Plesk usage reports help identify whether a subscription is approaching its storage or monthly traffic allowance. Disk space is stored data; traffic is transferred data. A larger traffic allowance does not automatically make a slow website faster.

What you need before you begin
Select the correct subscription and know the limits included in its plan. Usage can include more than public website files, such as databases, mail, logs and local backups. The exact accounting and update schedule depend on server configuration.
01 Check disk space and traffic usage in Plesk
- Open Statistics or the subscription resource summary in Plesk.
- Compare used and allocated disk space. Review the available breakdown to distinguish website files from mailboxes, databases or other counted data.
- Review traffic for the stated accounting period. Check the dates and units before comparing the result with a monthly allowance.
- If usage is unexpectedly high, inspect the relevant source: large mail folders, growing application logs, repeated backup archives, downloads or unusual requests. Keep recovery copies before deleting anything.
- Plan a controlled cleanup or service upgrade if necessary. For a busy application, include room for temporary files, database maintenance and new backups rather than aiming to operate permanently at the limit.
How do I interpret the updated disk and traffic figures?
Recheck the report after its next normal statistics update. Verify that any cleanup removed the intended disposable data and that website and mail functions still work. Keep a usage trend so normal growth can be distinguished from a sudden incident.
Troubleshoot unexpected results
If totals differ from a file-manager view, compare accounting scope and refresh times first. Do not delete unknown database or mail-storage files directly. For unexplained traffic, inspect access logs and application behaviour; an allowance increase may restore capacity but does not resolve abusive or unintended transfers.
