An address filter can target unwanted mail associated with one sender address. Sender addresses can be forged, so this is a practical filtering rule rather than proof of the sender identity or a complete spam-defense system.

What you need before you begin
Select the correct domain and understand the filter scope. DirectAdmin domain spam filters can affect multiple mailboxes; use a mailbox-specific webmail rule instead when only one user should be affected. Preserve a sample message and check that the address is not a legitimate shared contact.
01 Block a specific sender address with DirectAdmin email filters
- Open E-mail Manager > SPAM Filters.
- Choose the address or Email match type under the blocking control.
- Enter the complete address, such as
sender@example.com, without adding a display name or unrelated punctuation. - Review the configured handling of matched mail. Prefer a reviewable spam destination while validating the rule when that option is available. Add the rule and save.
- Test with an authorized controlled message where practical and review subsequent mail. Keep the rule narrow rather than blocking a whole provider domain after one unwanted message.
How do I test the sender-address filter?
Confirm matching unwanted mail follows the configured action while legitimate correspondents remain unaffected. Review the spam destination regularly during the initial period so a mistaken rule can be corrected.
Troubleshoot unexpected results
If unwanted mail continues, compare the actual message headers and matching behavior instead of assuming the visible From name is the matched address. If important mail is blocked, remove the specific rule and retest. Already discarded mail may not be recoverable, so ask the sender to resend after the rule is corrected.
