Planning and deploying a current Pimcore website

Pimcore is a platform for structured product information, digital assets and content. This guide helps you check hosting compatibility, choose an appropriate installation method and verify the first usable site. The application, its extensions and any commercial license remain separate from the hosting account.

01 Check Pimcore and hosting requirements

Evaluate the current edition, license, PHP/database requirements and supporting services before choosing hosting. Workers, scheduled tasks, storage and other components can make a self-managed server or specifically prepared environment more appropriate than an ordinary shared account.

Use the project's current supported release information and the requirements shown for the package you select. If Softaculous offers an older or unsuitable build, follow the current vendor installation process or ask us to confirm a suitable environment. Do not enable an unsupported PHP runtime simply to reproduce an old tutorial.

02 Prepare a version-matched Pimcore deployment

  1. Choose the intended supported Pimcore platform and edition, then check its complete service requirements and registration/licensing conditions with the vendor.
  2. Start from the official skeleton or the reviewed project repository in an isolated development environment. Keep its dependency and service configuration together.
  3. Confirm that the hosting design can run the database, asset processing, required queues, workers and other services for that release. Agree the architecture with us before provisioning production data.
  4. Follow that version's installation procedure against the intended empty database. Review initialization and sample-data operations before applying them.
  5. Replace development credentials and secrets, configure trusted service connections, and set the correct public web root before any shared or production deployment.
  6. Test representative data edits, asset processing and queued work, then verify that workers restart through the supported process manager.

The official skeleton is a development starting point. Its example secrets, local service addresses and convenience settings need a deliberate production configuration. An old Softaculous catalogue entry does not establish compatibility with the current platform.

03 Configure Pimcore for first use

Use the supported current installation and deployment workflow, with private configuration and an appropriate public document root. Configure required workers and scheduled tasks through a process manager your plan supports.

Confirm the expected result

Test representative asset processing and structured data operations, inspect queues and logs, and confirm scheduled work completes after a deployment or restart.

04 Maintain and troubleshoot Pimcore

A catalogue entry does not prove every dependency is available on a shared plan. Confirm the full architecture with us before placing production catalogue data into an environment that cannot run required background services.

Keep files and data together in your recovery plan, test application updates in a copy when practical, and review logs after deployment. If installation fails, record the exact error, selected application/PHP versions and destination path before retrying.

A common question

Does a successful installation mean the whole application is ready for customers?

No. Verify the public content, permissions, forms or notifications and the features you actually use. An installer success message confirms provisioning, not your complete business workflow.
