Uploading website files with SiteWorx File Manager

SiteWorx File Manager uploads files into the selected domain’s filesystem. Choose the correct web directory before transferring content so a successful upload actually changes the intended website.

What you need before you begin

Keep a backup of any file you may replace. For a standard SiteWorx domain, File Manager opens the domain home, while public website files normally live in its html directory. Verify the configured document root for customised sites.

01 Upload website files with SiteWorx File Manager

  1. Open File Manager, choose the domain from the selector and click Login.
  2. Navigate to the actual website folder, usually html. Check the existing filenames and path before uploading.
  3. Choose Upload and select or drag the intended files. In supported Tiny File Manager versions, dropping files can begin the transfer immediately.
  4. Review any overwrite prompt carefully. Upload application releases according to their deployment instructions rather than mixing incompatible files into a live installation.
  5. Wait for transfers to finish, return to the file list and confirm the expected names and sizes. Remove temporary archives from public access after a verified extraction or deployment.

02 Example: confirm the destination with a small HTML file

Create a file named upload-check.html containing the following text, and upload it to the selected domain's verified document root:

Code or configuration example
<!doctype html>
<html lang="en">
<meta charset="utf-8">
<title>Upload check</title>
<p>SiteWorx upload reached the intended folder.</p>
</html>

Visit https://example.com/upload-check.html, replacing the example hostname with your own. The exact message confirms the file is being served from that destination. If you see a different page or a 404 response, check the domain, root and filename before uploading the full site. Delete this temporary check file when finished.

Confirm the expected result

Open a representative HTTPS page and inspect the updated file or asset. If the old version remains, check application and CDN caches after confirming you uploaded to the right domain.

What should I check when a SiteWorx upload is incomplete?

For failed or incomplete transfers, check quota, file size limits and write permissions. Do not solve a permission error by making everything world-writable. Use an authorised secure transfer client for large batches when browser upload limits make the process unreliable.
