How to install a MyBB Forum through Softaculous

MyBB is an easy to use forum application built on top of PHP. Our MyBB Hosting Plans all come with the ability to easily install MyBB in seconds with Softaculous.

To install MyBB through Softaculous, you will have to do the following:

1.) Log in to cPanel 

2.) Locate and click on the Softaculous application icon

3.) Navigate to Forums > MyBB

4.) Click on the blue "Install" button and proceed to fill in the required fields.

Required Fields

a.) Choose Installation URL
Installation URL for your MyBB installation. Can either be installed on your root domain or in a folder.

b.) Site Name
Your website's name. Can be changed later on.

c.) Board Name
The name of your forum or board. Can also be changed later on.

d.) Board Email
The primary email address that MyBB will use to send out notifications regarding your forum.

e.) Admin Username
Username of the forums administrator user. This will be the username you will use to login to the admin end of MyBB.

f.) Admin Password
Password for your Administrator account. Be sure to make it alphanumerical and a password that you can remember as you will need it to manage and administer your forum.

g.) Admin Email
Administrator's primary email address.

h.) Select Language
Language of your MyBB Forum. You can choose between 3 options currently, English, Turkish or Persian.

5.) Once you have filled in the required fields, enter your email address in the "Email installation details to" field and click on the "Install" button.

Your MyBB installation will now begin to install, it usually takes about 2-3 minutes for it to fully install. Once fully installed, you will receive the installation details in the email address you entered in step 5.) which will include login URLs and administrator information.

The email will look similar to the following:

6.) To log in to you MyBB Forum as an administrator simply add the /admin prefix after the installation URL.

So if you installed MyBB on the domain example.com/forum, your admin login page will be located at example.com/forum/admin
