Change a Name.com domain to your assigned Nabtech nameservers

domains-dns

If your domain is registered at Name.com, change its registrar nameservers there when you want our assigned DNS service to answer for it. Prepare the Nabtech zone first, including records for any email hosted elsewhere.

01 Before changing anything

Find the exact nameservers in the details for the Nabtech service you are connecting. If you are using Domain Nexus DNS Manager, verify the domain's eligibility and prepare or import its records. Do not use a nameserver pair from another customer's account or an old screenshot.

Keep a copy of the current Name.com DNS records and nameserver list. If DNSSEC is enabled, arrange the parent DS change with the old and new signing providers before switching authority.

02 Change the list at Name.com

  1. Sign in to Name.com and open My Domains.
  2. Select the exact domain.
  3. Open Manage Nameservers in the domain actions.
  4. Remove the old nameservers from the list you are replacing.
  5. Use Add Nameserver to enter each assigned new hostname individually.
  6. Select Save Changes.

Enter nameserver hostnames without a URL scheme or port. Keep the complete intended provider list and avoid an accidental mixture of unrelated old and new servers.

03 Verify in our client area and public DNS

Reopen the saved registrar settings, then use the DNS propagation checks to inspect delegation and authoritative answers. A Nabtech zone may be editable before Name.com publishes the new delegation, so a successful record edit alone does not prove visitors are using it.

Test the apex domain, www, email delivery and important subdomains. Old recursive answers can remain until their cache lifetimes expire. Keep the old DNS service operational during the planned overlap.

What should I check if DNS fails after changing Name.com nameservers?

Check whether the new nameservers have the zone, whether each gives the same answer and whether a stale parent DS breaks validation. Changing nameservers does not copy records automatically.

If Name.com refuses the save, use its specific error and account support process. If the registrar change succeeded but the Nabtech zone is missing or inaccessible, give our support team the domain and service reference so the correct entitlement and binding can be checked.
