Changing or recovering your cPanel password

Your cPanel password controls access to the hosting account and may also be used by its main file-transfer account. It is separate from individual email mailbox passwords and may be separate from your Nabtech account login.

Prepare for the change

Use a trusted device and keep access to a recovery email address outside the affected hosting account. Save a new unique password in a password manager. If you suspect someone else knows the old password, also review other access methods such as FTP users, API tokens and SSH keys.

01 Change or recover your cPanel password

  1. If you are already signed in, open Account Preferences or the available Password & Security interface. Enter the current password and the new password requested by the form.
  2. Save the password change. Keep your existing session open while checking a new login in a separate private browser window.
  3. If you cannot sign in, use the cPanel login page’s password-reset option when enabled. Enter the requested account details and complete the code sent to the registered contact address.
  4. If recovery is unavailable or the contact address is inaccessible, open a our support team request from your authorised client account so ownership can be checked.

Confirm the intended access works

Confirm the new login works, then update stored credentials in legitimate tools that use the main hosting password. Changing this password does not automatically change every mailbox or separate FTP user.

What if my cPanel recovery message does not arrive?

Never share a password-reset code or authenticator secret in a ticket. Repeated failed attempts can trigger protection. If recovery messages do not arrive, check spam and the contact address; do not create another hosting account as a workaround.
